Lei das "Bets"

O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sancionou a lei que regulamenta o mercado de apostas esportivas online no Brasil em 31 de dezembro de 2023.
Para uma empresa de apostas online atuar no país, terá de pagar R$ 30 milhões para obter a licença de operação.
Somente poderão explorar as apostas esportivas as empresas constituídas segundo a legislação brasileira, com sede e administração no território nacional. Pela lei sancionada, menores de 18 anos não poderão fazer apostas.
Também é vedada a participação de:
* proprietários e pessoas que trabalham em empresas de apostas;
* agentes públicos ligados à regulamentação e à fiscalização do mercado de apostas;
* pessoas que tenham acesso ao sistema informatizado de apostas
* pessoas que tenham ou possam ter influência sobre o resultado de jogos, como dirigentes esportivos, árbitros e atletas, pessoas diagnosticadas com ludopatia, que é a compulsão por jogos de azar.

O texto também cria regras para funcionamento de jogos e cassinos online, trecho que foi incluído durante a votação na Câmara dos Deputados. A legislação define ainda regras para a publicidade e a propaganda dos sites de aposta. E estabelece as infrações e punições para o caso de descumprimento das regras previstas em lei.
